Michael is a colored pencil and watercolor artist currently living in the City of Richmond, Virginia. He was born in Columbus, Ohio and studied commercial art and photography at the Art Institute of Atlanta, Art Institute of Pittsburgh, and Virginia Commonwealth University.
Michael is a member of the American Watercolor Society and is a Signature Member of the Virginia Watercolor Society.
His artwork has been featured in the 2017, 2018, 2022, 2023, 2025 and 2026 Virginia Watercolor Society Annual Exhibitions, and the 2019 Central Virginia Watercolor Guild Exhibition in Charlottesville, Virginia. His painting, "Three Water Lilies" was accepted for the September-November 2023 Virginia Watercolor Society Exhibition in Williamsburg. "Rose of Sharon Winter Phase" was selected for a 2025 Library of Virginia First Fridays Exhibit. "Rose of Sharon Winter Phase" has also been selected to be included in the 2025 Virginia Watercolor Society Exhibition in Radford, VA.
His painting, "Snapper" has been selected for the 2026 Virginia Watercolor Society Annual Exhibition in Richmond, VA and his painting, "Interrupted Meal" has been selected for the 2026 Mid-Atlantic New Painting Biennial at the UMW Gallery at Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, VA.
Michael has won awards in several local art shows, and has illustrated numerous magazine and CD covers.
